Our Curriculum

We have further developed our school curriculum for 2024-2025 to ensure it is broad and balanced across all subjects and the focus of the children’s learning is relevant to the world in which they live in today! Learning focuses on our local, national and international communities, highlighting particular issues relevant to the age of the children and their understanding.

The curriculum at St. Joseph’s is organised in accordance with the National Curriculum laid down in the Education Reform Act 1988 and the new National Primary Curriculum 2014, although its basis remains that Christ is the foundation of the whole educational enterprise in our Catholic school.

Assessment

At our school, assessments play a vital role in understanding your child's learning journey. They are designed not only to gauge progress but also to highlight areas where we can offer additional support. We view these assessments as a collaborative effort between students, teachers, and families, ensuring that each child receives the encouragement and guidance they need to thrive.

We understand that assessments can sometimes feel daunting, but rest assured, our approach is focused on creating a positive and supportive environment. Your child's well-being and development are our top priorities, and we are here to work with you every step of the way. Together, we can help your child reach their fullest potential.
