Bridging Generations: Year 6 Visits the Parish Friendship Group
Over the course of the Spring Term, our Year 6 pupils had the wonderful opportunity to visit the Parish Friendship Group, a community initiative supported by Catholic Care. Groups of children took part, spending quality time with members of our parish and building bonds across the generations. 💛🌼
Throughout the term, the children and parishioners enjoyed a range of heart-warming and joyful activities – from the fun of a lively Beetle Drive and a classic game of Bingo, to the calm creativity of making Easter crafts together. The room was filled with laughter, chatter and companionship, with both the young and older members of our community clearly gaining so much from the shared time together.
The Parish Friendship Group, run by Catholic Care, is just one of many ways the charity works to support those in need of connection. Whether through loneliness, retirement, bereavement, or simply living alone, Catholic Care seeks to create spaces where everyone feels seen, heard and valued.
We are proud to be supporting Catholic Care this Lent through our fundraising efforts and feel honoured to play a small part in their mission of love and service.
At our school, we believe in raising a generation of caring, compassionate young people who make time for others. These visits have shown the power of conversation, kindness and community, and we hope to continue building these special friendships long into the future.
