In Memory of Pope Francis – A Week of Prayer and Reflection 🕊️🌍

This week, our school community came together in prayer and remembrance following the death of Pope Francis. We have taken time to honour his life, his message, and the lasting impact of his kindness, humility, and unwavering care for the most vulnerable.

Across school, children reflected on the many ways Pope Francis led by example – his acts of love, his deep compassion for those in need, and his passionate advocacy for the earth, our common home.

Our Year 6 pupils visited St. Joseph’s Church, spending time before the Blessed Sacrament in quiet prayer, where they prayed the Rosary for the repose of Pope Francis’ soul. This special time of reflection offered them a chance to remember, give thanks, and entrust him to God’s eternal care.

Back in school, the children created artwork and personal reflections on the legacy of Pope Francis, exploring how his leadership and message of mercy have touched their own lives. Their responses were heartfelt and sincere – a tribute to the Pope’s ability to reach hearts across the world, including those of young people.

We continue to keep Pope Francis in our prayers and give thanks for his faith-filled witness to love, justice and care for creation.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
